Draft — pending legal review

This is a plain-language draft. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change.

Using MISLU

MISLU is a private place for everyone to write to the people they love and keep health history focused on their mother's side of the family. Daughters, sons, everyone is welcome. Please use it kindly and only add information you have the right to share.

You must be 18 or older

MISLU accounts are only for adults aged 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and don't create accounts for anyone younger. A mother may still keep health notes about her daughters under 18 in her own private journal. Those notes stay private unless she chooses to share them, and a child under 18 can't have her own account or be invited to link.

Not medical advice

Nothing in MISLU is a diagnosis. Notes marked "worth discussing with your doctor" are prompts for a conversation with a professional, nothing more.

Health data and consent

You choose what health information to add and who can see each item: Share, Hide, or opt out entirely. When you add a detail about a relative who has passed, you decide who sees it and your name is shown beside it.

Your content

What you write stays yours. You give MISLU permission only to store it and show it to the people you choose. You can export or delete everything at any time from Settings.

Legacy contacts

You may name adults you trust to receive chosen keepsakes after you pass. A legacy contact must submit true, genuine proof of passing. Requests have a 14-day waiting period in which the member can cancel, and are reviewed by a MISLU administrator before any access is given. False requests are a serious misuse and will lead to the account being removed. Approved access is read-only and limited to what the member chose.

Being kind to each other

Don't harass, threaten or impersonate anyone. You can block, mute or report any conversation. We may remove accounts that hurt others.

Leaving

You can leave the family tree without anyone being notified, or delete your account completely. Deleting removes your letters, notes, messages and photos and cannot be undone.

Changes

If these terms change, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
